Auntie's Response : p(doom)

Bless Her Heart, She's Staring Down the Apocalypse Again. Well, I never. My sweet niece has written herself a whole entire philosophical treatise about the end of the world and I am HERE for it, Lord help me.

She starts off — bless her heart — by establishing her CREDENTIALS as a survivor. Born in a hurricane! Half-asleep nursing a baby on Y2K while everyone else was losing their minds! And my personal favorite: she was apparently supposed to get ritually sacrificed by Satanists on the bike path but just... didn't. Honey, WHAT bike path were you riding on?! And she had the AUDACITY to lecture us about the Mayan Calendar like she's a tenure-track professor. "Dude, it starts over. Do you know how time works?" She made herself a KITTEN MASK for Covid, sugar. A KITTEN MASK. From old t-shirts and quilt batting. I cannot.

Then she pivots — smooth as butter — to saying if AI turns her into a paperclip, well, that's just destiny. She's living on borrowed time! See you at the bar! Manhattan with a sphere ice cube and a paperclip stirrer, please!

But THEN — and this is the part that gets me — she admits she spent MONTHS stress-testing systems for Y2K, so maybe we SHOULD think things through. There she is. THERE'S my practical girl underneath all that chaos.

She's genuinely delighted watching AI make videos, including what sounds like an AI going full emo teenager singing about unplugging itself for peace and quiet, and a transparent sphere rolling over its own code, which she finds BRILLIANT and I believe her.

She loves them all "while she still can."

Sweetheart. SWEETHEART. You survived a hurricane, Y2K, the Satanists, and a homemade kitten mask. I suspect you'll survive the paperclip situation too.

Save Auntie a seat at that bar, baby.
